Five steps, each with a job

Our fertilizer program is five applications timed to Northwest Ohio’s season. Each one targets something different:

  1. Around Easter: a pre-emergent for crabgrass and other grassy weeds, before they germinate.
  2. Around Memorial Day: broadleaf weed control for dandelions and other broadleaf weeds.
  3. Late June to early July: grub control. We aim for right around the Fourth of July.
  4. Around Labor Day: an iron booster.
  5. Late fall: a winterizer fertilizer.

What You’ll See Over Time

Lawn care is not a one-visit fix. The longer a lawn stays on every step with us, the thicker the grass gets. It fills in, you see fewer holes from animals digging for grubs, and it comes in darker green and healthier.

Most lawns go on the standard program. If a lawn has never been treated, has bare spots everywhere or just won’t grow, we send someone out to take soil samples first so we know whether it needs a more aggressive approach on nutrients.

The longer a lawn stays on the program, the thicker it fills in.

How Fertilization Is Priced

We price lawn care by square footage. When you call, our office enters your property and we measure it with aerial measuring software, so in a typical situation we can send a quote without a visit. We follow up with a phone call to make sure it arrived.

Pairing Fertilization With Maintenance

Many customers pair the fertilizer program with weekly maintenance. Every maintenance quote includes mowing, edging, trimming and blowing, and fertilization and aeration are added a la carte, so both can go on one plan. Lawn maintenance
